Leadbelly: A Tribute. Leadbelly: A Tribute (which also has been released under the title A Tribute to Leadbelly) is the recording of a concert held at Hunter College in New York City organized by Leadbelly's nephew, Tiny Robinson, and featuring three acts: Pete Seeger & Arlo Guthrie, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, and the Lunenberg Travelers. Serving as openers, the Lunenberg Travelers present the gospel side of Leadbelly in the songs "You Must Have That True Religion" and "I Know It Was the Blood.
It won a Grammy Award the same year.
This is a tribute album that is very entertaining with informative historic storytelling songs and music you can sing along with. 7 people found this helpful. A nice CD if you like Woody Guthrie and the various performers. But the quality of the recordings is quite uneven.
