King of Rock is the second studio album by hip hop group Run–D. released on January 21, 1985 by Profile Records. The album was produced by Russell Simmons and Larry Smith. The song "Roots, Rap, Reggae" features Yellowman became one of the first hybrids of rap and dancehall.

The 1992 issue The King of Rock 'N' Roll: The Complete 50's Masters features every song that Presley put out during the fifties, which is the time when much of his most important songs came out and his backing players included Scotty Moore. In contrast to his 1970 Reprise album The Rill Thing, which constituted a serious updating of his sound, complete with a brace of new songs, Little Richard's King of Rock & Roll was deliberately less ambitious, built around covers of material that early-'70s audiences would have known well by way of Motown, the Rolling Stones, Three Dog Night, Creedence.

With this song the band returned to their rock roots. It features a violin solo by Mik Kaminski. The song went through many changes during recording and at one point was going to be called "Motor Factory" with a completely different set of lyrics. The single proved to be ELO's last UK top twenty hit single, and reached no. 19 in the US in August 1983.

But it was Elvis who would emerge King of Rock and Roll. His barrage of recordings and live performances from 1954 to 1958 provided the catalytic spark igniting a music and cultural revolution that’s affected every Rock act since. So, here at Heritage, we’ve gathered up our top reasons why Elvis Presley lives on as the The King of Rock and Roll : 1) No other performer has ever moved so naturally between the genres of Rockabilly, Country, Gospel, and R&B (and been recognized as an icon in each), essentially synthesizing these into a new form: Rock ‘n’ Roll.
