Very groovy stuff from this legendary soul jazz combo! The album features some of the group's best original material – like "Blues For The Congo", "Say April", and "Kubah" – all of which have a great mix of soulful piano, warm bass, and excellent added. I wish they would've recorded for Blue Note. They have a similar sound and style to the Ramsey Lewis Trio, Billy Larkin and the Delegates or Odell Brown & the Organ-izers. The snappy bongo beat recalls the gogo beats of Sandy Nelson.
