By the Grace of God is the fifth album released by the Swedish rock band The Hellacopters. The CD version of the album came in three different combinations of the red, white and black cloud and lightning design. The design would become a trademark for the band and was used on backdrops, merchandise, different record covers and in music videos. The LP version released in Sweden had a black cover and vinyl while the European version had a white cover and vinyl
Shreve's delicate, textural melodies shine, particularly on pieces like "Invocation," "Apogee," "Diamonds From Dust," and "Twilight Pavan," all of which mix classical technique with a contemporary melodic sense. Northern Lights" and "Silent Partner" are some of the collection's other highlights. The album's only drawback - if you can call it that - is that it is so successful in lulling the listener into a relaxed state that some of the finer points of the music might be missed
I highly recommend this CD as well as all of Amy Shreve's CD's.
