Carla Venita Thomas (born December 21, 1942) is an American singer, who is often referred to as the Queen of Memphis Soul. She is the daughter of Rufus Thomas. Thomas was born and raised in the Foote Homes Projects in Memphis, Tennessee. Along with her siblings, Marvell and Vaneese, she was one of three musical children of Rufus and Lorene Thomas.

Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Carla Thomas is an American singer, who is often referred to as the Queen of Memphis Soul. The debut album Gee Whiz went to the top of the national popularity charts and brought Carla many bids for TV, radio and personal appearances, including the Dick Clark "American Bandstand" show. Next to "Ghee Whiz, Look At His Eyes", this LP also includes "A Love Of My Own", "It Ain't Me" and "For You". 180 gram audiophile vinyl.
