Woodstock 94 is a two-disc set documenting the Woodstock 1994 festival. It was released during November 1994, nearly three months after the event took place. The album was released on A&M Records. The set features 27 performing artists, one song per artist. It also features the recording of both general stage announcements and some band introductions given at various points during the festival. Live – "Selling the Drama" – 4:33. He pointed to Woodstock 94 as an example of the kind of event he hopes to achieve where legacy bands are balanced out with newer musical acts. That Woodstock had not only Green Day, Nine Inch Nails, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Blind Melon, but also Crosby, Stills and Nash, Joe Cocker, the Band, John Sebastian and Country Joe McDonald from the original one. David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash formed a loose group in 1968 after the demise of their former bands. After their first album was released in May 1969 (simply called Crosby, Stills & Nash) Neil Young joined them, too. Though the quartet was incredibly successful, the musicians rather paid attention to their individual solo careers. Luckily the formation of CSN&Y made it to Woodstock, too. It was only their second gig and they were quite nervous on stage
Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young's performance at Woodstock was only their second show together. Before forming the band, Crosby had been a member of The Byrds, Nash was with The Hollies, Stills and Young were members of Buffalo Springfield. Neil Young played with the group for only part of the set. It may seem odd that the most famous song about Woodstock came from someone who wasn't there, but Mitchell had a different perspective .
