Storm, Nova's fifth studio album, recorded with Mercury Rev as her backing band, was released in late 2003 on her own Saltwater label, went top 5 in Germany, followed by a tour during which Nova became pregnant. She quickly followed the birth of her son with her next record Redbird, released in 2005, again Top 10 in Germany. In December 2005, Nova released Together As One, an EP supporting the Bermuda Sloop Foundation which operates the Bermuda sloop Spirit of Bermuda. In 2002, she self-published The Sorrowjoy, a 72-page book of her poetry and drawings. 2004: Live at the Union Chapel.

The sweetness of Heather Nova consumed the indie rock market throughout the 1990s, and into the new millennium she was a rising star across the globe. Born to a Canadian mother and a father from Bermuda, Heather Frith used singing and music as a means of entertainment during her childhood. She was born in her father's native land on July 6, 1967, and spent the next 16 years of her life aboard a 40-foot boat with her parents, brother, and sister. It was there that she reflected upon her life and composed songs for a third album. Siren would surface in 1998, showcasing a more calm and serene Nova. The years to come would prove prominent for Heather Nova. She was creatively in control of her own material and comfortable in her London home. Still England's sweetheart, Nova surfaced for a fourth album in the fall of 2001.

From the Album The Way It Feels. One Day In June (Live At The Union Chapel, 2003). Maybe An Angel (Live At Grünspan, Hamburg 2001). Fool For You (Live At The Union Chapel, 2003).

Union Chapel provides a suitably intimate setting for Heather Nova, whose last album – 2011’s 300 Days at Sea – was pretty much the antithesis of the stadium-ready, new folk music of mainstream and arguably more insincere acts like Mumford & Sons and Noah and the Whale. Having seen another singer-songwriter, the immensely talented Daniel Johnston, here in 2012 we were fully aware of the help an echoey venue like the Chapel can offer a folk act looking to create a cavernous atmosphere.
