Tyrone Davis (born Tyrone D. Fettson or Tyrone D. Branch, May 4, 1938 – February 9, 2005) was an American blues and soul singer with a long list of hit records over more than 20 years. Davis had three number 1 hits on the Billboard R&B chart: "Can I Change My Mind" (1968), "Turn Back The Hands Of Time" (1970), and "Turning Point" (1975). Tyrone Fettson was born in Greenville, Mississippi to Willie Branch and Ora Lee Jones.
Tyrone Davis (Born May 4, 1938 - Died February 9, 2005) was a soul singer. He was born in a rural community around 20 miles outside of Greenville Mississippi in 1938 to John and Falker Davis, spent most of his formative years in Saginaw, MI, and moved to Chicago in 1959. He made many great soul records for the Dakar and Columbia labels from the 1970s, right through the disco and funk booms and into the 21st century.
After Carl Davis signed Tyrone Davis to Dakar Records in 1968, success came quickly for Tyrone. His debut single Can I Change My Mind gave Tyrone the first of three US R&B number one singles. A year later, Tyrone released his debut album Can I Change My Mind in 1969.
