RIP Johnny Cash ❤❤❤ we'll keep you in our hearts. but hold this is for you YEE-HAW the man in black. 2 weeks ago. Sound like I'm listening to this through a pipe. Cash did a lot of covers. Especially the American Recordings label contains lots of covers of modern rock and pop titles, some of them better than the original version in my opinion. I don't know who said this first, but you can often read the words "if Johnny Cash covers your song then it's no longer yours. There is some truth in that sentence.
Johnny Cash had different backing bands, tried different approaches and went through some turbulent periods in his personal life, but somehow he never lost touch with who he was, both as a creative artist and as a human being. The second great prison recording by Johnny Cash to feature in my top 10, featuring his classic late 60s backing band. This album was the follow-up to the best-selling and critically acclaimed: At Folsom and was released in 1969. The live performance was also filmed by Britain’s Granada . and clips of the concert feature in the documentary they made about Cash.

Only 8 left in stock (more on the way). What makes this album/compilation unusual, also, are some bonus tracks by June Carter on CD 3 of her solo career before she (It appears) even met Johnny Cash. Have you ever heard the track "No Swallerin' Place"? If this isn't the "hillbilly sound," I don't know what is. It's a wonderful piece of Americana seemingly long lost. Only the Brits could recognize pure American gold, as this album apparently was complied and produced in England. There apparently is a lot of Cash memorabilia on the market. This three CD set is a good place to start.
