Isaac Stern - A Life in Music:. I first discovered Rampal's recording of these exquisite Japanese melodies 20 years ago, and was thrilled when they were released on CD. The entire album is a lovely musical journey to the floating world. My 2 year-old daughter falls asleep to this every night, and there is nothing I find more soothing and relaxing after a long day than the perfection of these melodies, and Rampal's masterful interpretation. The music weaves a spell that is not easily cast off. This is an album to treasure and listen to over and over again.

Isaac Stern (21 July 1920 – 22 September 2001) was an American violinist. The son of Solomon and Clara Stern, Isaac Stern was born in Kremenets, Poland (now Ukraine), into a Jewish family. He was 14 months old when his family moved to San Francisco in 1921. He received his first music lessons from his mother.
