Grind 'n' Roll from Northern Virginia Comprised of vocalist/guitarist Richard, bassist Taryn, and drummer Ethan, Drugs of Faith is a grind ‘n’ roll band from Northern Virginia, where it was formed in 2002. A few demos and promo releases later, Drugs of Faith signed with Selfmadegod Records and issued the self-titled mini-album in 2005.
Some friends start Drugs Of Faith in 2002, originating from an idea to start a punk band, and of course write songs for their first demo. Over time, as many bands do, they record for two 7" EPs which as it turns out are never released, but which result in a compilation spot (Terrorizer Magazine) and two more demos.
When it comes to grindcore, mini albums such as Drugs of Faith 's 2005 debut are really, really mini; it's eight tracks totaling just over 15 minutes, and then it's over - time to go home. Of course that's just as well, since arguably no other genre of music packs as much punishment per square inch as grindcore, and, though they temper their assault with a few more restrained elements of straight-up hardcore, Drugs of Faith are certainly no exception to the general rule.
