Metric Systems, an Australia duo made up of Kate Crawford and Bo Daley, return to the label for their eight-track debut album, which features just a small selection from a large archive of recorded materials produced over the last 20 years. Musically, People In The Dark is dark, haunting, beautiful, and cinematic; it's hard-to-define music that touches on house, techno, electro, and more beat-driven pastures.

Electricity" is the 1979 debut single of the English group Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, featured on their eponymous debut album the following year. Inspired by Kraftwerk's "Radioactivity", the song addresses society's wasteful usage of energy sources. Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys sing the lead vocals on the track together in unison.

Metric is a Canadian rock band founded in 1998 in Toronto, Ontario. Although the band is Canadian, Haines was born in India to American parents, and Winstead and Scott-Key are American.

Metric Systems is the name of a covert project of over 20 years duration. It has moved across multiple continents, under multiple names. The 8 songs that make up ‘People in the Dark’ were recorded between 2000 and 2016 in various locations across Sydney, Melbourne and New York. The bright-eyed sci-fi fascination of Australia’s Clan Analogue collective intertwines with the more sinister facets of modern technology - echoed voices pepper the album like fragments of a surveillance tape collected by our digital panopticon.
