Celtic Frost (/ˈkɛltɪk frɒst/) were a Swiss extreme metal band from Zürich. They are known for their strong influence on the development of extreme metal. Formed in 1981 as Hellhammer, the band became Celtic Frost in 1984 and was active until 1993. It re-formed in 2001 and disbanded following frontman Tom Gabriel Fischer's departure in 2008

Into the Pandemonium" stands as a synonym for a battle that the band could not win. Right from the beginning, Tom G. Warrior and his sidekicks were doomed to failure, because the concept of the album brought the band to its knees. I believe quite a few Celtic Frost fans must have tried to force themselves into liking this album.

Into the Pandemonium (1987) by Celtic Frost. Labels: Noise Records. Genres: Avant-garde Metal, Thrash Metal Members: Tom G. Warrior, Martin E. Ain, Reed St. Mark, Claudia-Maria Mokri, Lothar Krist, H. C. 1922. Jurgen Paulmann : Viola (Tracks 4, 10, 11). Recorded from January-April 1987, at Horus Sound Studio, Hannover, Germany. The tracklist reflects the original European LP issue. Some different versions are: - The Canadian LP lists "Sorrows of the Moon" as the fourth track on the first side, but it is actually "Tristesses de la lune" and "Sorrows of the Moon" never plays. The American version also replaces "Sorrows Of The Moon" with "Tristesses de la lune". This configuration also appeared on the 1990 reissue.

Of the first three Celtic Frost albums, the production of Into the Pandemonium is the most flawed. And that's the direct result of the record company not believing in the album and not wanting to invest in the band's career. DID The label's lack of support cause the band to implode or were there other factors? There were other factors, but that was the prime cause. After experiencing these conflicts with Into the Pandemonium, we knew we couldn't go on like this. We were an increasingly artistic and ambitious band. We had found success and we didn't want to waste it.

Into The Pandemonium is in some parts Celtic Frost´s tribute to Rozz Williams and Christian Death. Compared to other CF works, it´s completely outstanding. Listen to the first two Christian Death releases Deathwish and Theatre Of Pain and you will hear the obvious references and similarities.

I totally agree with BOMBBOOTIQUE and always thought the same.Make the parallel with Christian Death is relevant although the records of this band mentionned are looking towards New Wave / Gothic Rock instead of Metal. Listen to "Sorrows Of The Moon"; to my ears, the most accomplished and interesting track of the album.

YES!! I'm not the only one who thinks he was channeling Rozz lol
