Bob Dylan is the debut studio album by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, released on March 19, 1962 by Columbia Records. Produced by Columbia's legendary talent scout John H. Hammond, who signed Dylan to the label, the album features folk standards, plus two original compositions, "Talkin' New York" and "Song to Woody".

Up to Me. Written by: Bob Dylan.

As Bob Dylan turns 75, he shows no signs of slowing down. The American icon is gearing up for a summer tour with longtime friend Mavis Staples and has just released Fallen Angels, his 37th LP and second straight Sinatra-inspired album of American Songbook classics. For generations to come, other artists will be turning to Dylan’s own catalog for inspiration

The Bob Dylan Complete Album Collection Vol. One also brings together for the first time, on two "Side Tracks" discs, a wealth of previously released non-album singles, tracks from Biograph and other compilations, songs from films and more. The collection contains 35 studio titles (including the first-ever North American release of 1973's Dylan album on CD), 6 live albums, the 2-CD "Side Tracks," and a hardcover book featuring extensive new album-by-album liner notes penned by Clinton Heylin and a new introduction written by Bill Flanagan. 5. Bowie’s fourth album (and possibly his best) Hunky Dory came in 1971 and contained the track Song For Bob Dylan. Dylan wrote in Chronicles : I found myself stuck in Woodstock, vulnerable and with a family to protect. If you looked in the press, though, you saw me being portrayed as anything but that. It was surprising how thick the smoke had become. I saw that leadership void. Bowie’s song begins by directly referencing Song To Woody and so sets himself up to be Dylan’s heir presumptive: Ah, here she comes Here she comes, here she comes again The same old painted lady From the brow of the superbrai. h, hear this Robert Zimmerman I wrote a song for you About a strange young man called Dylan With a voice like sand and glue Some words had truthful vengeance That could pin us to the floor Brought a few more people on And put the fear in a whole lot more.
