Shakira – Dónde Están Los Ladrones? Inevitable.
Dónde Están Los Ladrones" is the end of the first era of Shakira; her strictly Spanish age. A sad fact in some respects, as it was only her second album made in the spotlight. Oh, but what a way to end arguably the better half of her career. Building upon the traditional Spanish pop foundations she had always had, ¿Dónde Están Los Ladrones" saw her branch out even farther into other styles of music, particularly more traditional Spanish music styles (much in the way artists like Ray Barretto and Santana did later in their careers) and more Americanized jabs at rock. If you like Shakira’s voice, you’ll love ¿Dónde Están Los Ladrones". It’s easily her best work, and just on the verge of being spectacular. Of course, if you just hate he. ell, you can still look at her on that album cover. Regardless, ¿Dónde Están Los Ladrones" is the gem of Shakira’s discography, and one of the best Spanish pop releases of the past decade.
Album · 1998 · 11 Songs. Dónde Están los Ladrones? channels musical ideas from all over the world-alt-rock brashness, expansive power balladry, mariachi brass, traditional Arabic chanting-through Shakira’s whip-smart instincts, resulting in twisty, rock-tinged pop gems that surprise as much as they shimmy. Her inimitable voice ties the package together, giving songs like the pumping No Creo and the bittersweet Tú personality and verve. Dónde Están Los Ladrones Shakira.

Dónde Están Los Ladrones? is the fourth studio album by Shakira. The album’s title is inspired by Shakira getting her luggage stolen during a trip to Bogotá, which had most of the material for her next album. The record was a major success as it peaked at number one-hundred thirty-one on the Billboard 200, and topped the Billboard Top Latin and Latin Pop Albums charts. Six singles were released for the album, such as Ciega, Sordomuda and No Creo.
