Johnny Mac is an Australian rock 'n' roll and country singer who was born on August 17, 1932 in Parkside, SA. inducted into the Australasian Country Music Hall Of Fame in 1978. For six years he was contracted exclusively to Channel 7 in Adelaide, working daily on the children's show Wonder-Land and weekly on Country Style. In addition to performing in Australia, he did two tours entertaining troops in Vietnam. In 1983, while on holiday in the US, Johnny bought Elvis Presley's 1969 gold Cadillac Eldorado. Johnny Thunders, born John Anthony Genzale, Jr (July 15, 1952 - April 23, 1991), was a rock and roll guitarist and singer, first with the New York Dolls, the proto-punk glam rockers of the early '70s. During the late '70s, he was a familiar figure on the New York punk scene, both with The Heartbreakers and as a solo artist. Thunders tangled with the demons of fame and drug addiction until his death on April 23, 1991 of a methadone overdose. Some suspect foul play.
