It’s obvious that while Levi and Werstler could and usually did go all out on their instruments while performing in Dӓӓth, with Avalanche of Worms, Levi’s writing and Werstler’s virtuosic abilities meld together so well that, opting for an Instrumental type album worked better than expected.
Avalanche Of Worms is a music studio album recording by LEVI, WERSTLER (Tech/Extreme Prog Metal/Progressive Rock) released in 2010 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette.
Fans of progressive technical metal, boy oh boy, do we have a treat for you!. Axl also said that the album is really is best enjoyed in a single sitting, as one large piece of work. Which you can do right now! We’re streaming the entire thing below before its release tomorrow on Magna Carta.
Eyal Levi and Emil Werstler are the co-lead guitarists for the technical death metal band Daath. On this instrumental disc, they're backed by bassist Kevin Scott and drummer Sean Reinert of progressive death metal legends Cynic. The result is an album that will make a certain subset of guitarists very happy, while putting most other listeners to sleep. The endless shredding solos; the songs that blend into each other; the substitution of "intriguing sonic textures" for memorable melodies or hook. t all just adds up to a modern tribute to the Shrapnel Records catalog.
LEVI/WERSTLER "Avalanche Of Worms". The downside to the seamless and fluid manner in which the album flows is that on an individual basis, many of these lose their luster; meaning that this is a record best experienced as a whole. The exotic natures of many of the melodies these two create don't leave for many moments of immediacy or 'hum-along' sections
He has insane precision and also awesome phrasing. This album kicks ass from start to finish and Sean Reinhart is awesome on this album. Just downloaded the album. Emil Werstler is a beast. I don't remember the last time I was this awestruck by a metal soloist. There's so much depth, knowledge and education in his solos.
