Blind Boy Fuller (born Fulton Allen) was an American blues guitarist and vocalist. Fuller was born in July 10, 1907 in Wadesboro, North Carolina and died February 13, 1941 in Durham, North Carolina. He played a steel National resonator guitar. As a boy Fuller learned to play the guitar and also learned from older singers the field hollers, country rags, and traditional songs and blues popular in poor, rural areas.

Blind Boy Fuller was only 33 when he died, but during his short but prolific recording career he became one of the most influential and best-selling bluesmen of the pre-War period. Inspired by the legendary blues and evangelist guitarist Rev Gary Davis, Fuller developed a ragtime influenced fingerstyle guitar technique typical among East Coast bluesmen, which beautifully complimented his gritty and expressive voice

North Carolina blues legend Blind Boy Fuller made his debut in 1935 recording in New York City for the American Record Corporation. Along with his guitar mentor, Rev. Gary Davis, and washboard player Bull City Red, Fuller ended up cutting 12 songs during that first trip, which established him as a vital new voice in the Piedmont Blues tradition. With his gritty voice and percussively picked National steel guitar, he covered multiple styles including ragtime, gospel, traditional blues, and hokum, eventually recording over 120 songs during his brief career. His performance style was often rough.
