The late Herbert von Karajan had a special affinity for Bruckner's most important symphony, the 8th. He made 3 recordings, if I've tallied them correctly. Many critics and listeners fawn over Karajan's final Bruckner 8th with the Vienna Philharmonic.

Notes

"A COLUMBIA recording, released exclusively in Australia by World Record Club."

Australian WRC pressing, sourced from original stampers and featuring unique sleeve art. Only known pressing. Mono and stereo versions have an identical sleeve and the same number on the back (S/4444) - the mono version has "4444" on beige 'strobe' labels, while the stereo has "S-4444" on green 'strobe' labels. There is a printed "stereo" rosette on the back, and the mono has a red sticker with "mono" placed over this (though these tend to drop off with age).
