Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde is the debut album of American hip hop group The Pharcyde, released on November 24, 1992 through Delicious Vinyl Records and EastWest Records. The album was produced by former group member J-Swift, and features only one guest appearance, provided by little known Los Angeles rapper Bucwheed (known then as "Buckwheat" from The Wascals).
Bizarre Ride II The Pharc. has been added to your Cart. With classics like 'Oh Shit,' 'Otha Fish', 'Ya' Mama,' and the now-ubiquitous hit Passin' Me By,' Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde remains essential and enduringly unique - a rite of passage for any serious Hip-Hop head. Featuring brand-new liner notes by leading music writer Jeff Weiss (Pitchfork, Passion of the Weiss), the Deluxe 25th Anniversary of the gold-certified album features the original album in its entirety, plus an entire disc of bonus material featuring rare cuts, remixes, and acapellas.
The cover shot of a Fat Albert-ized Pharcyde roller coastering their way into a funhouse makes perfect sense, as the . based quartet introduced listeners to an uproarious vision of earthy hip-hop informed by P-Funk silliness and an e street-corner atmosphere that highlights the incredible rapping skills of each member.

at the time, it's important to remember that they were embraced across the rap spectrum- their first tours included opening slots for Ice Cube and 2Pac. Bizarre Ride would go gold by 1996, but the band's own dissolution- typical inter-squad bickering and "creative differences"- would start before the album was even released. J-Swift would abandon the group before the next album, Labcabincalifornia (they hooked up instead with a promising kid named Jay Dee), and a nasty crack addiction would trigger a sad spiral from which he's still recovering.
