Complete your Beethoven, Wiener Philharmoniker Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra Pierre Monteux collection. Sealed, mint pressing sounds terrible. My guess is that age was not kind to this record. It left the plant without an inner sleeve so the grooves were in contact with acidic card stock for decades, probably causing damage. Barring that it sounds like it is covered in sand: It is in stereo and Monteux's conducting is both traditional and beautiful. It doesn't sound too heavy, as seems to have come into fashion around 1960. I may look for another pressing of this in non-mint condition. It has the possibility to be a real gem of a recording.

Even before he died at the venerable age of 89 in 1964, Pierre Monteux was neglected by record companies. RCA thought his recordings didn't sell, so they released his late Beethoven cycle (recorded between 1957 and 1961, when the conductor was in his early 80s) by dribs and drabs on budget labels. The Beethoven Third is too famous to be introduced. The Eroica was a revolution in the world of Symphony comparable to the Rite of Spring in contemporary music. Many readings are famous. However, it is difficult to find the definitive Eroica. Klemperer and Monteux offered two remarkable readings in mono version. In the forthcoming days Dudamel will give his own. Giulini, with the same LA Philarmonic now conducted by Dudamel gave an impressive reading.
No, give me more info. All. Game Of Thrones. Liszt continues on to arrange the entire movement plus the rest of the symphony. Rather than spend the time on transcribing all of that, I think I’ll move on to gently modify some excerpts from the piano arrangements he made of the other Beethoven symphonies. modified transcription.
