Virgil Keel Fox (May 3, 1912 in Princeton, Illinois – October 25, 1980 in Palm Beach, Florida) was an American organist, known especially for his flamboyant "Heavy Organ" concerts of the music of Bach. These events appealed to audiences in the 1970s who were more familiar with rock 'n' roll music and were staged complete with light shows.
Virgil Fox have a series of organ concerts of the music of Johann Sebastian Bach specifically targeted at Rock audiences, including psychedelic light shows. He is a virtuoso performer and a flamboyant showman. I rather think that . Bach would approve, as he in his own day pushed the technology to its limits. Virgil Fox was one of a kind. My wife is a church organist and loves Bach organ pieces. She favors the kind of fire and life that Fox gives his performances. We just cranked this up and had a listen on a snowbound night by the fireplace. Bach and Fox transport us with a glimpse of eternity. Reply Notify me 1 Helpful. Marketplace 0 26 For Sale from €. 6.
