98 Record label: MCA Nashville Genre(s): Country Western. 100 Music-Critic Score How the Music Critic Score works. The album starts out with "Papa Bear," which is also the first single. The narrator in the song has a perfect story book life, but that all ends when he goes home to find his wife in bed with another man. While that is rather depressing (as it is supposed to be-this is a COUNTRY album), it is in no way as sad as "I Never Go Around Mirrors," in which the singer laments his lost love by "never combing his hair or shaving his face. The person in the song has become so pathetic that he even despises himself.

Keith Harling (born May 8, 1963) is an American former country music artist. He made his debut in 1998 with the album Write It in Stone, issued on the MCA Nashville label. It produced four singles on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks (now Hot Country Songs) charts. A second album, Bring It On, was issued a year later on the Giant Records label. Harling was born in Greenwood, South Carolina. His family moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee when he was still young
He has a nice, laid-back delivery and a rich timbre; similarly, his songwriting is effortless and natural. He wrote six of the songs on his debut, and the best of them match the professional tunes he sings on the remainder of the album. There are a few weak moments, but overall, Write It in Stone is a first-class debut. Guitar chords and guitar tablature made easy.
