According to the liner notes, this Johnny Horton album is "an album of songs that he introduced on stage." There is some truth to that, as we can hear Johnny introducing songs on this album, which then leads into a studio master, outtake or demo of said song...The unaltered versions of these songs can be found on various compilations or, if you're a high roller, a Bear Family set. The Louisiana Hayride recordings, from which the song intros and chatter are culled from, have been issued separately. The only thing missing, then, are the announcements from some uncredited voice whose name I should know. Mr. Announcer was not a part of the original recordings and was overdubbed when this thing was assembled.
