Twisted Wheel are an indie rock band from Saddleworth, Greater Manchester, England. Twisted Wheel formed in February 2007 in Saddleworth, Greater Manchester by guitarist and singer Jonny Brown and bassist Rick Lees, later joined by drummer Adam Clarke. Frontman Jonny Brown heard the name in a Paul Weller track "Into Tomorrow", where the lyrics say "Round and round like a twisted wheel, Spinning in attempt to find the feel".
The Twisted Wheel was a nightclub in Manchester, England, open from 1963 to 1971. It was one of the first clubs to play the music that became known as Northern Soul. The nightclub was founded by the brothers Jack, Phillip and Ivor Abadi as a blues and soul live music coffee bar/dance club. The original location of the club was on Brazennose Street, between Deansgate and Albert Square.
Twisted Wheel is the eponymous debut studio album by English indie rock band Twisted Wheel. Many of the songs on the album have become live favourites of the band.
1. Turn on Your Love Light - Bobby "Blue" Bland. Talk to Me Baby (Put Some Sugar in My Ear) - Joe Haywood. 10. You Shot Me Through the Grease - Alvin Cash & The Registers. 11. Fortune Teller - Benny Spellman. Gonna Be) Good Times - Gene Chandler. 18. Getting Mighty Crowded - Betty Everett. 19. I Can't See Your Love (For the Tears in My Eyes) - Ballads.
Some speculate that the failure was partly due to MTV choosing not to air the video for "Be Chrool to Your Scuel" on the grounds that it was graphically offensive. The tour supporting the album was a near fiasco, with low attendance and many cancelled dates. This was followed by Club Daze Volume 1: The Studio Sessions, an album containing demo recordings from the pre-Under the Blade era, which has three songs that were written by French, this was the first time someone other than Snider was writing songs, and Club Daze Volume 2: Live In The Bars, a live counterpart. In 2001, Koch Records released a tribute album under the name Twisted Forever: A Tribute To The Legendary Twisted Sister.
