The album features another tribute to the late Don Cherry - a sung version of Art Deco with lyrics supplied by Ms. Jordan at Cherry's request. Along with her long held respect for the trumpeter Tom Harrell and his work (the album features one of Harrell's compositions), this emphasis on trumpeters parallels the sympathy Ms. Jordan has for bass players. Her bass-voice duets are truly legendary. On Jazz Child she receives eloquent support from the Steve Kuhn trio (ECM really needs to transfer their Kuhn-Jordan recordings to CD!!!)

Theo Bleckmann (born Theodor Raoul Bleckmann; 28 May 1966 in Dortmund, West Germany) is a vocalist and composer. Theo Bleckmann With guitarist Ben Monder he recorded his first solo album, Origami (2001), an album of impressionistic vocalese and lyrics sung in German and French. He collaborated with pianist Fumio Yasuda on the albums Las Vegas Rhapsody: The Night They Invented Champagne (2006), Berlin – Songs of Love and War, Peace and Exile (2007), and Schumann's Favored Bar Songs (2009). He was a guest vocalist with the San Francisco Symphony Chorus, Estonian Radio Choir, Merce Cunningham Dance Company, and Mark Morris Dance.

Photograph: Michel Binstok Sheila Jordan. Users say. Time Out says. Ever a nimble improviser, veteran vocalist Sheila Jordan rarely sticks with a script, except the one she’s making up on the bandstand. Here she sings with a group led by one of her surest partners, pianist Steve Kuhn. Posted: Thursday March 15 2012.

Sheila Jordan is a natural. Still going strong at 86, she does more than sing with her voice. Like any great jazz improviser, she bends notes to their expressive potential, traveling far but always returning home. Among few other musicians could this have been clearer than pianist Steve Kuhn, bassist Steve LaSpina, and drummer Billy Drummond, in whose finely attuned company she took Birdland by quiet storm

This victory opened the doors for him to work with the creme-de-la-creme of the French jazz scene. Peirani then decided to quit his jazz studies to have more time to play and soon he was working with musicians the calibre of Michel Portal, Daniel Humair, "The Renaud Garcia Fons Quintett", Sylvain Luc, Louis Sclavis and Vincent Courtois. With Special Guest: - Theo Bleckmann - Vocals & Electronics on "God Is A DJ".
