Supernormal-The Australian Concerts 2014. The shows took place in Melbourne, Australia during Melbourne Music Week, November 2014. This was a new lineup of Tangerine Dream that was the launch of the Quantum Years featuring new member Ulrich Schnauss, joining Thorsten Quaeschning and Hoshiko Yamane in the new 4 piece presentation of Tangerine Dream.

All and everything, because it does reflect our state of consciousness while traveling. The band's new line-up, who gave their first concerts of 'The Quantum Years' Down Under, can be heard with the new bandmate Ulrich Schnauss. Of course it was too early to give 'The Quantum Years' musically the full speed. Also the final use of the new experimental technology, which is ready to go for Europe next year, could not have been completely set up because of some astronomical cargo costs.

They started out as children of psychedelia, with an even more experimental approach than bands like Pink Floyd, who were their closest counterpart in rock music. But in 1974 they cut rock’s umbilical cord and set off for deep space. This trio codified the classic Dream sound on albums like Phaedra, Rubycon, Ricochet and Stratosfear. Edgar Froese is gone and with him, the spirit of Tangerine Dream. But Supernormal: The Australian Concerts 2014 brings you three CDs and over three and a half hours of Tangerine Dream to keep you in heavenly bliss.

Supernormal - The Australian Concerts have been recorded on the occasion of the Melbourne Music Week on 16th and 20th Nov 2014 at the Town Hall Melbourne and the ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image) supported by the Goethe Institut Melbourne.

Tangerine Dream's earliest concerts were visually simple by modern standards, with three men sitting motionless for hours alongside massive electronic boxes festooned with patch cords and a few flashing lights. Some concerts were even performed in complete darkness, as happened during the performance at York Minster on 20 October 1975. Supernormal - The Australian Concerts 2014 (2015).
