Album My Degeneration. Tell me all about how things will never go too far Situation normal you're still living in the dark You don't seem to care that I don't have that much to say Gives you more time to blather on about your boring fucking day. Oh my I don't know why I really hope you go and die So I can live here without you, and keep July

Flashlight Brown is a Canadian punk rock band, originally from Guelph, who formed in 1996.

My Degeneration" seems like something of a transitionary album for the band. They're no longer the young ska-punk band of ol' but not quite the big Foo Fighters style rock act they seem to be growing into. As much as I see Flashlight Brown billed on pop punk tours, they really manage to avoid numerous pitfalls of that genre. Their sound is much more muscular than many of their peers. Where a similar band would insert a stereotypical 2003 pop punk facet , Flashlight tends to jump into a very well placed traditional rock'n'roll guitar solo.

They played at our school during lunch back in the day. Have no clue why. Inepsy, Career Suicide and Fucked Up are better Canadian punk bands from same year as this record was released. Bloodstains Across Canada is a good comp. if you want to know about the early Canadian punk bands. '77 and so forth..
