There are many King Tubby comps out there, alot of over-lapping songs between comps and the same tracks are often given different names on different comps, this is especially prevelent with his output for Bunny Lee. There are also lots of "King Tubby" releases out there that Tubbs did not mix himself, producers would rent out his studio and then release the mix using Tubby's name in the title, to popularise on Tubbs fame and reputation, these release are of varying quality. For these two reasons it can be frustrating to collect "King Tubby" releases. That being said this release is exceptional, the track selection is fantastic, lots of rugged sounding dance hall riddims with a strong roots feel. This release was mixed by Fatman, who is a Tubb's disciple, here Fatman really sounded inspired, this does not sound like a "mix by numbers" dub album. The variety of dub/sound effects are always done tastefully within the mix. This apparantly was only released in the UK and I am not aware of any re-issues/JA presses. I got my hands on a CD version, it does the trick. In summary, if you find this album and like Dub, snatch it up!
