Fast Times at Ridgemont High is a 1982 American coming-of-age comedy film directed by Amy Heckerling and written by Cameron Crowe, adapted from his 1981 book of the same title. Crowe went undercover at Clairemont High School in San Diego and wrote about his experiences.
Album · 1982 · 1 Song. When Cameron Crowe and Amy Heckerling made Fast Times at Ridgemont High in 1982, their teen subjects were still grooving to vestiges of the ’70s, especially the Southern California soft-rock sounds of Poco, Jackson Browne, and the Eagles (four of whom contribute solo cuts to the film’s soundtrack). You can feel a new decade coalescing in Sammy Hagar’s pop-metal and Oingo Boingo’s wacky party rock, but no group personifies the movie’s pleasures better than the Go-Go’s, whose Speeding offers the perfect dose of teenage fizz. Fast Times At Ridgemont High (Music from the Motion Picture) Various. Fast Times leans harder on pop - most notably with its infectious opening hit single Somebody’s Baby by Jackson Browne.
