The New Jersey beach bums that we are, we really love the song Applejack and have enlisted its feel-good vibes in all of our future summer playlists to come. We got in touch with The Triangles and asked them if we can put it out on vinyl for them.
The Applejacks were an beat group of the 1960s. They were the first "Brumbeat" group (that is, from the West Midlands am area) to reach the Top 10 of the UK Singles Chart, and were unusual for having a female bass guitarist, Megan Davies. All of the Applejacks (except Jackson) were members of the same scout troop as children. Baggott, Cash and Freeman began playing together in a skiffle group named the Crestas in 1961, occasionally performing at a local youth club.

Applejack is a strong apple-flavored alcoholic drink produced from apples. Popular in the American colonial era, the drink's prevalence declined in the 19th and 20th centuries amid competition from other spirits. Applejack is used in several cocktails, including the Jack Rose. Apple brandy was first produced in colonial New Jersey in 1698 by William Laird, a Scottish immigrant who settled in Monmouth County. The drink was once known as Jersey Lightning.
