Oceanic (Isis album). Oceanic was named Terrorizer's number one album of 2002, and in Drowned in Sound's "Our 66" introspective of the best albums of the past six years, it placed fifth. It was greeted with great critical acclaim.

Лейблы Ipecac Recordings. At its core, Oceanic is a blend of post hardcore and doom metal with the song structures and atmospheric prowess of post rock. Most of the songs follow the loud-quiet dynamic of post rock and thus it’s structured rather similar to ambient music. Long songs that start off fairly quiet and mellow with more and more elements being added on or taken away.

Oceanic is ISIS' first true post-metal album. While the first ISIS albums tended to borrow quite a bit from the old Neurosis sound, this album tends to break away from the traditional ISIS sound, and tends to lean towards long, emotional songs. When ISIS made this album and broke away from their traditional sound, they seemed to keep the slower tempo that they found to be successful.

Isis (sometimes stylized ISIS) was an American heavy metal band founded in Boston, Massachusetts in 1997 and later based in Los Angeles. The band borrowed from and helped to evolve the post-metal sound pioneered by bands such as Neurosis and Godflesh, characterized by lengthy songs focusing on repetition and evolution of structure. Isis's last studio album, Wavering Radiant, was released on May 5, 2009.

Isis formed in 1997 and released their brilliant full length debut album in the year 2000, "Celestial". Oceanic is the group's second full length album. Oceanic" is a welcome and most logicals step foward from Isis' debut album, "Celestial". Upon it's release, "Oceanic" met some comparisons to post-rock bands such as Mogwai, Explosions In The Sky and Godspeed! You Black Emperor.
