18th-century French literature is French literature written between 1715, the year of the death of King Louis XIV of France, and 1798, the year of the coup d'État of Bonaparte which brought the Consulate to power, concluded the French Revolution, and began the modern era of French history.

Concert pitch is the pitch reference to which a group of musical instruments are tuned for a performance. Concert pitch may vary from ensemble to ensemble, and has varied widely over music history. In the literature this is also called international standard pitch. The most common modern tuning standard uses 440 Hz for A above middle C as a reference note, with other notes being set relative to it.

The 18th century in music saw a great progress through a number of fiddlers like Matteo Goffriller, Pietro Guarneri, Santo Serafin and Domenica Montagnana. The Messiah is regarded as the most pristine violin of the 18th century made by Antonio Stradivari. The invention of electric music in recent days saw a decline in the use of violin, however, several fusion bands like the Corrs again brought violin to rise. Belonging to the chordophone category, Guitar is a six string solo musical instrument.

This article is about the 19th-century diplomatic term. For the jazz album, see European Concert. A first phase of the Concert of Europe, known as the Congress System or the Vienna System after the Congress of Vienna (1814-15), was dominated by five Great Powers of Europe: Prussia, Russia, Britain, France and Austria. The more conservative members of the Concert of Europe, who were also members of the Holy Alliance, used this system to oppose revolutionary movements, weaken the forces of nationalism, and uphold the balance of power. The Concert of Europe had no written rules or permanent institutions, but at times of crisis any of the member countries could propose a conference. Meetings of the Great Powers during this period included Aix-la-Chapelle (1818), Carlsbad (1819), Troppau (1820), Laibach (1821), and Verona (1822).
