I-E-A-I-A-I-O" is a song by the band System of a Down from the Steal This Album! record. During the Toxicity/Steal This Album! recording sessions, the song made its first studio appearance. It was leaked onto the internet, labelled "Why?", along with several other songs under the unofficial name Toxicity II. The CIA is the sixth Ty Segall album of 2018, if you count all of his various projects. Unfortunately, it is also the sixth best Ty Segall album of 2018. Following three sets under his own name – the wonderfully sprawling Freedom’s Goblin, the exuberant covers record Fudge Sandwich and the cassette-only Orange Rainbow – as well as albums with White Fence and GØGGS, the CIA is a collaboration with his wife, Denée Segall, and Emmett Kelly, a member of his touring band.

The original C.I.A. record was released under the Macola catalog in 1987. It was available in either the blue Macola Record Co. logo cover or the white and blue lettering picture cover designed by Darryl "Lyrrad" Davis. However, a re-issue of the E.P. has recently surfaced. The origin of this re-release is most likely through former Wreckin' Cru leader Lonzo attempting to exploit the current eminence of Cube. Lonzo is infamous for releasing various Dr. Dre compilations over the past few years in a similar manner.
