New Book - The Essential Bach Choir. The Essential Bach Choir. Published earlier in this important anniversary year, The Essential Bach Choir by Andrew Parrott has proved a great success with critics and readers alike. David hill, winchester cathedral. I was gripped by this book; it is compulsive reading. Bach lovers will find this an interesting and convincing read. It also contains, in its appendix, the original article by Joshua Rifkin which was, oddly enough, never before published. He had only presented it at musicological gathering.
The book was adapted into a Hong Kong movie in Cantonese by directors Derek Tsang and Jimmy Wan called Lover's Discourse (戀人絮語, 2010). The film consisted of four interconnected stories about love and lovers French director Claire Denis later adapted the book into the film Let the Sunshine I. .Cultural references A Lover's Discourse is mentioned in, and central to, the plot of Jeffrey Eugenides' novel The Marriage Plot (2011).
