The Royal Marines Band Service is the musical wing of the Royal Navy. It currently consists of five Bands plus a training wing the Royal Marines School of Music at HMS Nelson and its headquarters is at HMS Excellent, Whale Island, Portsmouth. It is currently the only branch of the Royal Marines which is open to women, although women are scheduled to begin Commando training in 2018.

Mono and stereo versions have an identical sleeve and the same number on the back (D/903) - the mono version has "D-903" on beige 'strobe' labels, while the stereo has "SD-903" on green 'strobe' labels. There is a printed "stereo" rosette on the back, and the mono has a red sticker with "mono" placed over this (though these tend to drop off with age).
Issued as a 'dividend' release, offered at a low price ($1.80 vs the regular $3.75) for club members who had bought one LP or more in the previous 12 months - the "D" is no doubt a code for "Dividend".
