Hear Daniel Menche and Mamiffer’s primal collaborative album Crater. Цитата: Last month, we learned that Mamiffer, the duo of ISIS-frontman Aaron Turner and Faith Coloccia, would release a collaborative album with noise veteran Daniel Menche, the culmination of nearly four years of work together. Now, you can stream Crater in full. The album covers six tracks of tension building drones, deconstructed metal and frozen atmospheres which channel the Pacific Northwest forests that inspired the album - often explicitly, as on the field recordings of rushing water that open ‘Exuviae’.
The video for Daniel Menche and Mamiffer's "Crater (Calyx Remix)" sucks you in immediately. The aural portion of the experience-created by the collaboration between the noise icon and the experimental duo- revolves around loops of soft, wheezing drones and sparse piano, a soothing wash of sound that invites the mind to wander. The accompanying visuals are layered and frantic-a snowstorm, a rainstorm, a storm of light. Mamiffer guitarist, electronic manipulator, and vocalist (and Hydra Head label boss) Aaron Turner gave us some background on the new project .
