Release is the eighth studio album by the English synthpop duo Pet Shop Boys. It was first released in 2002. After the release of their previous studio album, Nightlife, it was originally planned that they would release a greatest hits collection in the autumn of 2000 with the two new tracks "Positive Role Model" and "Somebody Else's Business". While recording the new songs for the hits collection it was decided to produce a full studio album instead.
This is a comprehensive list of The Pet Shop Boys songs that have been officially released. The list includes songs that have been performed by the band. The list consists of mostly studio and BBC recordings; remixes and live recordings are not listed, unless the song has only been released in one of the two formats. Tracks are listed as having been released on their respective albums, unless the single has no associated album. Where a song has appeared on multiple albums, the first appearance is listed.
Please is the debut album by English electronic music duo Pet Shop Boys, released on 24 March 1986 by Parlophone Records in the United Kingdom and by EMI America Records in the United States. According to the duo, the album's title was chosen so that people had to go into a record shop and say "Can I have the Pet Shop Boys album, 'Please'?".

This 3 disc set has the original album and also two discs of further listening from 2001-2004. So you'll get B sides and remixes as well as new songs never released. But you get lots of awesome never before heard demos. This album has great song writing. A lot of the tracks are very soft, pretty, and simple.

But Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe are among the smartest, pop-savvy groups to ever record, so they not only realized they were stagnating, they knew what to do about it, bringing Tennant's Electronic partner and former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr for several songs, and moving the group toward careful, considered, mature pop for their eighth album, Release (another pun-worth title . It's hard to call Release an album of its time, since it hardly falls prey to trends, but it's aware of its time - an album that's proudly out of step with the particulars of hipness, but knows what they constitute, knows what they feel like, knows what modernism means for somebody who's lived their life with the.
