Complete your Robert John Godfrey collection. I finally managed to snag a vinyl copy of this today, the first that I have EVER listened to since a rainy afternoon in Bernard Dean's record shop in Scarborough in 1976. We had just seen The Enid the previous evening and so went to listen to RJG's solo album in one of the listening booths at the back of the shop, where you got to hear one side only. We were all hugely underwhelmed at what we heard and decided not to make a purchase. How I have regretted that decision in the intervening years! Yes, I did manage to track down a Japanese CD, but I always wanted a vinyl copy, and today.

Robert John Godfrey, famed composer of The Enid, presents the extraordinary album 'Fall of Hyperion'. Perfectly bridging the gap between classical music and progressive rock, this re-mastering of the 1973 recording features the poetic work and vocals of Christopher Lewis. The album was produced following Godfrey's involvement at Abbey Road in the late 60's, where he worked alongside Norman Smith to produce Pink Floyd's 'Piper at the Gates of Dawn'

Robert John Godfrey (born 30 July 1947) is a British composer, pianist and founding member of The Enid. Born on the Leeds Castle estate in Kent, England, Godfrey was educated at Finchden Manor in Tenterden, which was described by its founder George Lyward as a "therapeutic community for adolescents", other alumni of which included Alexis Korner and Tom Robinson.
