A Christmas Gift for You from Phil Spector (originally released as A Christmas Gift for You from Philles Records) is an album of Christmas songs, produced by Phil Spector, and originally released as Philles 45 in 1963. Spector treated a series of mostly secular Christmas standards to his "Wall of Sound" treatment, and the selections feature the vocal performances of Spector's regular artists during this period.

In 1962, Phil Spector, then still a precocious young songwriter and producer with enough success to move his operations from New York to Los Angeles on a whim, recorded a West Coast group called the Blossoms singing "He's a Rebel," a good girl's pledge of devotion to a bad boy. He released it as a single by the Brooklyn girl group the Crystals, who were much more popular. At a time when Spector’s behavior and hairdo overshadow his hits, it can be difficult to separate the music from the man. But the Philles Album Collection persuasively testifies to his intuitions as a songwriter and his innovations as a producer. Rather than arranging them in a greatest-hits tracklist, the box set packages these familiar and unfamiliar songs on the original LPs, which allow listeners today to hear them in situ and to discover long-lost gems.

Phil Spector Presents The Phillies Album Collection. By the time he was 22, he'd founded his own label (Philles) and was churning out Wall of Sound hits at an unprecedented clip, beginning with the Crystals' "He's a Rebel. The four-disc Back to Mono befits its singular subject in both presentation (the richly annotated booklet includes a piece by Tom Wolfe) and content (60 songs cut between 1958 and 1969, plus the entire classic Yuletide LP A Christmas Gift for You). As we all know, the eccentric genius Phil Spector is admired as being one of the greatest rock and roll producers of, not only the 60s, but maybe of all time, influencing such artists as Brian Wilson and many others. Spector's "Wall of Sound"-in which strings, voices and just about everything else in the studio are overdubbed and reverbed, creating a massive audio experience-has become the thing of legend.
