Performer: Rudolf Firkusny. Orchestra: Czech Philharmonic. Conductor: Libor Pesek. Composer: Bohuslav Martinu. Audio CD (November 8, 1994). I would not have subjected myself to the onslaught of three Martinu piano concertos in a row were it not for the pleasure I've had from Rudolf Firkusny's other late-career RCA discs. If one cares for Martinu's music, and I do in limited doses (I've long admired his string quartets among a few other pieces), then Firkusny is your man when it comes to the piano concertos (the third concerto was dedicated to him and he gave the premiere performances of the second and fifth)
