A vial of hope and a vial of pain In the light, they both looked the same Poured them out on into the world On every boy and every girl. It's in the Neon Bible, the Neon Bible Not much chance for survival If the Neon Bible is right. Take the poison of your age Don't lick your fingers when you turn the page What I know is what you know is right In the city it's the only light.
Summary: One of the most anticipated releases of 2007 is this second album from Montreal's Arcade Fire, the Win Butler- and Regine Chassagne-led band that won over bloggers, critics, and, ultimately, fans with their 2004 debut 'Funeral.
Fitting Neon Bible 's more worldly concerns, the Arcade Fire have streamlined the raw, large sound of Funeral into something that achieves the same magnitudinous scale through more economical means. Propelled by inventive guitar work and Jeremy Gara's steady drums, the group pares back anything that might curb the controlled forward thrust of songs like "Black Mirror", "Keep the Car Running", or "The Well and the Lighthouse".
You and her both are looking for NEON BIBLE. Revolutionary safe new Program really works.
In my experience, "Neon Bible" is the best album Arcade Fire has produced and will be hard, if not impossible, to top. There is something very natural, very genuine about the experience that cannot simply be duplicated. This is why I would highly recommend "Neon Bible" to music lovers everywhere, no matter your tastes, because I believe there is something for everyone. 5 people found this helpful.
Neon Bible became Arcade Fire's highest-charting album at the time, debuting on the Billboard 200 at number two, selling 92,000 copies in its first week and more than 400,000 to date. Being released within a month of similarly successful releases by The Shins and Modest Mouse, Neon Bible was cited as an example of the popularization of indie rock.
Redirected from Neon Bible (album)). Neon Bible is the second studio album by Canadian indie rock band Arcade Fire. It was first released on March 5, 2007 in Europe and a day later in North America by Merge Records.
When The Arcade Fire released their critically acclaimed, fan obsessive, epic, beautiful, strange and awe-inspiring debut Funeral, the face of indie rock changed. Hell, the face of music changed. Neon Bible is dark, even draining, but it’s not hopeless. The album then comes to a close with My Body is a Cage, an odd yet lovely dirge that ends with Butler singing set my spirit free.
