Front Desk Agent Josh Justice does some armchair investigative work to uncover the truth about the filming of The Clash's iconic Rock The Casbah video in Austin.

The only up-close and personal film about the juggernaut band The Clash and their meteoric trajectory through rock ‘n roll history, The Rise and Fall of The Clash features previously unseen footage of the band at work and at play, as well as interviews with the individual band members and with those who knew them well. This is not a film that pulls any punches, but neither does it overlook the life-changing effect that The Clash brought to so many. The album was released on 27 October 1977 through Virgin Records amid controversy arising from the use of the coarse slang word (in British English) "bollocks" in its title. Older versions of most of the album's songs also appeared on a bootleg album called Spunk, which consists of demo recordings the band had made during 1976 and January 1977, and which was released shortly before Never Mind The Bollocks. Added to My Q. Show Information.

The Clash is the debut studio album by English punk rock band the Clash. It was released on 8 April 1977 through CBS Records. Written and recorded over three weeks in February of 1977 for a paltry £4,000, it would go one to reach on the UK charts, and has been included on many retrospective rankings as one of the greatest punk albums of all time

Only 8 left in stock (more on the way). The Rise and Fall of The Clash paints the fascinating inside story of rivalries, treachery, betrayal and the internal band dynamics and managerial interference that ultimately led ’the biggest band in the world’ to self-destruct. Highlights include: New interviews with Mick Jones, Terry Chimes, Vince White, Nick Sheppard, Pete Howard, Viv Albertine, Pearl Harbor, Anthony Mingay and many more Clash friends and insiders.

The first directing effort by Spanish Clash fan Danny Garcia, The Rise And Fal. cores because it’s about the messy, inconvenient part of the story Letts’s great film shies away from. Specifically: the end. And, more specifically, after the end, when that other Clash thing staggered on zombielike for a while, releasing Cut The Crap, the awful 1985 album which, true to stubbornly contradictory form, contained the last great Clash song, This Is England. Garcia’s film is no great shakes as a cinematic experience.
