Home Sweet Home" is a song by American heavy metal band Mötley Crüe. It was originally released in 1985 on the album Theatre of Pain, and again in 1991 for the Decade of Decadence 81-91 compilation album. It has been recorded as a cover version by several artists, most notably country singer Carrie Underwood, who released her version as a single in 2009.

Home Sweet Home is track on Mötley Crüe’s 1985 LP Theatre of Pain. Although so-called power ballads existed prior to this song, it’s probably the first one that influenced an entire generation of rock bands to record at least one power ballad for release as a single on each record; virtually every band emulated Home Sweet Home. Originally, Elektra Records didn’t want to release the song due it sounding too different from the band’s previously released albums. It was a response to us from being gone so long during Shout At The Devil. It was our first time. A tour bus picked us up at our little tiny apartments and we took off to go play some shows, and 18 months later we got dropped back in our little apartments.

After 'Home Sweet Home', every band had the one ballad that came as their second or third single. I think the reason we did it was because it was so anti-Mötley Crüe and it was funny, because it threw us into the mainstream," He added. Trust me, none of us had the foresight to see that. Justin Moore covered this song for the Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute to Mötley Crüe album. He had also thought about recording "Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)" for his contribution, but the Eli Young Band ultimately ended up doing that tune. The video for Justin Moore's version covers an entire day of the country star's life on the road. We were actually able to take the day and split it up into about six setups to make it feel as though Justin was on the road," the director Sane Drake explained. From on his tour bus to in a green room to a different.

You know I'm a dreamer. But my heart's of gold. I had to run away high. So I wouldn't come home low. Just when things went right. It doesn't mean they were always wrong. Just take this song and you'll never feel. Take me to your heart. Feel me in your bones.
