Seconds of Pleasure was a 1980 album by Rockpile, a band consisting of Dave Edmunds and Billy Bremner, bassist/vocalist Nick Lowe, and drummer Terry Williams. The band had played together on various solo albums by Edmunds and Lowe in previous years, but Seconds of Pleasure would be the first (and only) album released under the Rockpile name.

But Seconds of Pleasure became their most complete and satisfying pop statement-if their ironic swan song, as well. It's "Seconds of Pleasure" by Rockpile. Pure energy and unbridled passion rolled up into a delicious musical morsel by the ace musicians in Rockpile. Feel the rhythm, dig the beat, hum the songs. Smile This is irresistible stuff. Most rock and power pop fans know the songwriting and interpretive genius of both Dave Edmunds and Nick Lowe, but for Rockpile they teamed up with Billy Bremner and Terry Williams to create a mighty, mighty band.
Running blind, hoping the dark can keep us apart Cause what we don't know can't color our hearts Take us back to the start
On Pleasure, Feist faces middle age with a slow-burning ruckus. She accepts that getting older is growing comfortable with knowing you'll never have all the answers. And she savors the ride nonetheless-like she says, pleasure is what we’re here for-because this is it, this is life. Feist may have hidden away for a while and thought about giving up music before making this album, but a decade since she broke through, she’s settling in like a long-distance runner staring down the horizon she knows will outlast her. She will quietly make her mark in the meantime.
