If I Had A Gun is probably as close to Wonderwall ‘s romanticism he’ll ever get, and AK. hat a Life! puts a new disco beat side to Noel’s musical palette. But the thing that hits you most in High Flying Birds is the absolute epicness of the album, something that never escaped Oasis, but seemed overblown and unneeded at the same time. Noel, not having his brother’s menacing stage prowess and strong Lydon-esque vocals, needed to compensate, and it worked marvelously.
Someday you might find your hero Some say you might lose your mind I keeping my head down now for the summer I’m outta my mind let me pull. Someday you might find your hero Some say you might lose your mind I keeping my head down now for the summer I’m outta my mind let me pull the other I’m gonna take that tiger outside for a ride. What a life! What a life! Keep on chasing down that rainbow You’ll never know what you might find Over the sunset on the horizon Maybe you dream but it tastes like poison I’m gonna take that tiger outside for a ride. What a life! What a life!
Noel often griped how Liam would prevent Oasis from doing anything unexpected, thereby raising expectations of left turns on High Flying Birds, but the little brass flourishes peppered throughout the record don’t stop the album from playing like a succession of variations on Don’t Look Back in Anger and The Importance of Being Idle.
