House of Wax's soundtrack is pretty adequate for a quickie summer horror picture about the stalking, killing, and eventual waxing of handsome young people. It begins with the stinging beats and mild nihilism of "Spitfire" from the Prodigy's overlooked 2004 effort Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned
Sounds great and the green coke bottle vinyl matches the wax from the movie and cover perfectly. Awesome pressing as well with a graphic on the D side which was a nice touch.
It is based on a story by Charles Belden. It is a loose remake of the 1953 film of the same name, itself a remake of the 1933 movie Mystery of the Wax Museum. The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and was released in US theaters on May 6, 2005.

I mean, I only watch 'House of Wax' to see Chad Michael Murray running around. So when I got this soundtrack from a friend I had very low expectations, but I was pleasently surprised. While the soundtrack is not one of the greatest I've ever heard, it has a good flow which makes it an easy listen. There are no 'bad songs' or slow points that really make you want to skip a track. Not only that but on the same cd as that popular "wanna be goth band" Chemicale Romance?! Joy Division is often labeled as goth music (I am not goth myself), but it is an insult to the memory of Ian Curtis to have one of Joy Division's best songs on a crappy cd with other no talent bands. So if for some odd reason you want to have this cd in your collection it would be because of these two tracks. I mean c'mon Chemical Romance??
