Holy Smoke (Peter Murphy album). Holy Smoke is the fourth solo studio album by English musician Peter Murphy. It was released on 14 April 1992 through Beggars Banquet Records. Produced by Mike Thorne, the album features contributions from Alison Limerick, Jonathan Carney, Audrey Riley and The Hundred Men, his backing band since 1988's Love Hysteria album.

Hopes for another surprise American success from Peter Murphy with Deep's follow-up went unfulfilled, as success proved not to be the case; released in the initial craze of the grunge/alternative mega-crossover, Smoke's elegant ballads and angular, arty rockers simply didn't fit in. Taken on its own merits, though, Smoke is quite a strong release, avoiding any cloning of Deep or "Cuts You Up" in favor of a different approach meant to bring out the band's live power more directly.

Cascade is the fifth studio album by English musician Peter Murphy. It was released on 11 April 1995, through Atlantic and Beggars Banquet Records. Produced by Pascal Gabriel, it is Murphy's last album on Beggars Banquet and first album not to feature his backing band, The Hundred Men, which disbanded after Holy Smoke tour. Murphy embarked a five-week joint North American tour in 1995 with American singer Jewel in support of Cascade and Jewel's debut album, Pieces of You.

Peter Murphy (musician) – Peter John Joseph Murphy is an English singer and musician. He was the vocalist of the rock group Bauhaus and later went on to release a number of albums, such as Deep, Holy Smoke. Thin with prominent cheekbones, a voice, and a penchant for gloomy poetics. Murphy was born near Northampton, Northamptonshire and he was raised in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. 1992s Holy Smoke mixed some traditional Turkish influences into the music while continuing the sound pioneered on Deep and this album was also to be his last major collaboration with Paul Statham, who departed to form Peach with Pascal Gabriel and eventually write songs for Dido and Kylie Minogue. 12.
