Simply named Necrovation, this eponymous album delivers all the good things we came to expect from the Swedes. In the galaxy of NWOSDM, there are countless acts that either get inspiration from US legends on/Autopsy and even more bands that follow the cult of Swedish Death Metal. A truly great album that will please early fans and most likely bring tons of new ones. Worthy successor of Clandestine after some 20 years and so superior to most actual bands it actually hurts.

Necrovation is above sounding to alike any of these bands. Lyrically they show romanticism for death and the beyond, without cliché gore themes. That is one thing that separates them from the vast majority of nonsense zombie horror.

While Necrovation definitely has its comfort zone in more high pitched, screeching death metal territory, the band spices things up with some chunky, bloody sinister death/doom riffing every once in awhile, adding beautiful, beautiful contrast to the record. As par with the Dismember influence, the band also utilizes quite a lot of melodic soloing and leads, actually writing some of the most dazzling and spectacular solos I’ve heard from a death metal band in a long time.
