The Rolling Stones is the debut album by the Rolling Stones, released by Decca Records in the UK on 16 April 1964. The album is included in Robert Dimery's 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.

Flowers (The Rolling Stones album). Flowers is an American compilation album by The Rolling Stones, released in the summer of 1967. The songs either appeared as singles, had been omitted from the American versions of Aftermath and Between the Buttons, were collected from studio sessions dating back to 1965, or are reissues of songs recently released on other albums.

By 1965, The Rolling Stones had become one of the biggest rock bands in the world, proving their value with innovative British interpretations of American R&B music. In an attempt to keep up with their contained bands that wrote their own songs-manager Andrew Loog Oldham pushed the band to compose their own material. Specifically focusing on creating a song partnership between Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, the tactic proved successful as ed singles (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction, Get Off Of My Cloud and As Tears Go By were all major hits. Possibly taking a cue from The Beatles, The Rolling Stones set out to record an album by the end of the year consisting of all original material. While on their fall North American tour in 1965, the band filed into Hollywood’s RCA Studios in December to record the new material they had been composing.

This past December, the Rolling Stones gathered in Mark Knopfler’s British Grove Studios in West London to begin work on a batch of original songs. Jagger is deliberately vague on the nature of those tunes. I hope it’s gonna be a very eclectic album, he says. The Stones are discussing more shows next year, and they really do intend to work on that album of originals.

Aftermath was The Rolling Stones’ fourth album in the UK, where it reached N. after being released by Decca Records on 15 April 1966. In the US, however, it was released two months later, on 20 July, by London Records. After entering the Billboard chart on 9 July, at N. 17 (the highest new entry of the week – four places ahead of The Beatles’ Yesterday And Today) the album would spend six weeks climbing the charts on the way to its US peak of N., on 13 August, nestling just one place behind The Beatles.
